HARTHAM UNITED FC
Formed in June 2018, HUFC are a team who started up to play in memory of Alfie Calvert, and raise money for the 4Louis charity. I agreed to help them out in the summer of 2019, producing some press releases for Hertfordshire-based newspapers, and covering their biggest game.
28th July 2019
Hartham United were undone by four well taken Sands finishes in the first half of The 2019 Alfie Calvert Memorial Cup game. They were much improved after the break, but narrowly fell short.
In what was a very exciting game, the home team actually opened the scoring in the fourth minute through Kieran Wheeldon.
Sands commanded a two goal lead in response, goals from Rob Allen (‘13), Callum Hatcher (‘22) and Tom Littlemore (‘26) putting them in the driving seat.
Hartham were not lying down though, but would’ve been frustrated to see George Hale’s 42nd minute strike cancelled out by Kurtis Walsh’s effort one minute later.
